Matching Angel was launched to meet the needs of a community that yearns for more connection in real life.
Our story was inspired by the collective struggle with online dating and tired speed dating concepts from the 1990s.
Forget the amateur hosts, tacky plastic table numbers, name stickers that don't stay, annoying bells, five-minute timers, awkward conversations, and mutual matches sent to you via text or app after the event.
This is NOT speed dating. There is NO swiping. This is NOT another app.

About this event
This workshop will introduce a relational framework that uses social cues such as listening, turn-taking, not interrupting and demonstrating respect through communication informed by the Indigenous worldview of ecological networks and environmental sustainability. A story-based approached will be adopted because we acknowledge that we live and learn through stories we share, as well as those we hear. The purpose is to build on your own experiences, and weave in key scholarship and models for supporting fulfilling and meaningful relationships. As you will be doing this alongside others who come from different backgrounds and experiences, you will also have the chance to explore different perspectives and connect with others who are also keen to develop mature relationships.
The content in the Matching Angel method is based on three connected themes:
Key foundational principles and contemporary applications
Embracing diversity and inclusion
Developing mature relationships - autobiographical stories of relating
Please note, over 95% of attendees come alone. There is no need to feel apprehensive, nervous or worried about coming alone. Your host will welcome you, help you get comfortable and support you with meeting other attendees. Only 20 spots available.
