Frequently Asked Questions

What makes Matching Angel different?

Matching Angel is for singles & solos seeking to meet someone new.

Our story was inspired by the collective struggle with online dating and tired speed dating concepts from the 1990s.

Forget the amateur hosts, five-minute timers, awkward conversations and mutual matches sent to you via text or app.

This is NOT speed dating. There is NO swiping. This is NOT another app.

The time has come for a fresh breeze of chance.

With a background as a PhD qualified researcher, Advanced ScrumMaster and Certified Relationship Coach who has taught up to Masters level at two top universities in Sydney, our founder coaches people to land their dream careers by day, and supports clients to make more meaningful connections by night.

Why is there a premium ticket price?

The venue and our qualified hosts deserve to be compensated for their time and work. Furthermore, safety is our priority. A premium ticket price aims to: (1) improve safety, (2) promote responsible behaviour and accountability, and (3) achieve better number and gender estimates.

How are contact details exchanged with matches?

You are responsible for exchanging contact details with someone new during the event. We will share our Matching Angel method that has zero risk of rejection. You may also review our safety tips here.

What if I fall outside the age bracket, can I still attend?

For events with age restrictions, we allow people to join ± 5 years.

Can I come alone?

Yes! Over 95% of attendees come alone. There is no need to feel apprehensive, nervous or worried about coming alone. Your host will welcome you, help you get comfortable and support you with meeting other attendees. Be your beautiful self and bring a positive attitude. <3

On arrival, you will be greeted by your host who will sign you in. Feel free to mingle with people while waiting for all guests to arrive. The networking part will start sharp, please aim to be on time and get yourself a drink and any food beforehand.

What happens if I am late?

We start events on time. Please reconsider booking if you cannot make the duration of the event.

What is your refund policy?

No refunds because a lot of time, effort and resources are put into organising each event. Full refunds will be given to all ticket buyers if the event is cancelled.
